Since July 4 1983, St. Michael's Long Term Care Centre has been a continuing care institution offering health services to those who are physically and/or mentally challenged - primarily seniors.

The provision of care is based on a multidisciplinary team approach involving:

Physicians, Nurses, Occupational / Physical / Recreational Therapists, Dietician, Social Worker, Pastoral Care Coordinator, etc.

Prospective residents are assessed by the Alberta Health Services

– Central Assessment and Placement Services (CAPS) and placed on a wait list.

• 7 Sub-Acute beds

• Home cooked meals based on the Canada Food Guide
• Selection of diets (low salt, low calorie, minced, etc.)
• Daily snacks and beverages
• Housekeeping
• Cable TV
• Laundry on the premises
• Volunteer support
• Pet visitation
• Secured entrances and exits
• Hairdresser

• 24 Hour Nursing Care
• Dedicated Medical Care for each resident
• Consultations
• Health care aides
  
• Podiatry, gerontology, ophthalmology, dental, etc.

• Nutritional assessment and advice
