As Christmas approaches, we eagerly look forward to cozy evenings and quality time with loved ones. It’s a season to embrace the spirit of giving, whether to family, friends, or those in need. This year, we invite you to share the gift of comfort and well-being with seniors who call St. Michael’s home.
Donations make up an important percentage of our funding, and our year-end appeal raises crucial funds to support projects or enhancements not otherwise funded. This important fundraising period makes a significant contribution towards our annual budget and the current disruption in mail delivery has created an additional challenge for us.
At St. Michael’s, our focus goes beyond providing quality care and accommodation – we are firmly committed to enriching the lives of each resident entrusted to our care through meaningful activities, and we need your help.
Recreation programs are key to preventing depression and loneliness in seniors. These programs promote physical health, emotional well-being, cognitive stimulation, and social interaction. They provide our residents a sense of purpose and accomplishment, boost their confidence and self-esteem, and foster a positive outlook on life.
One resident shared, “Without the incredible recreation therapists and the activities program, I would be stuck in my room with little to do.”
Our recreation staff get to know each resident’s interests and tailor activities to their abilities, ensuring that everyone can participate in something they enjoy.
But there is a challenge. Your support is critical to sustaining an enhanced recreation program which makes a real difference in the lives of our residents.  Every donation, no matter the size, has a meaningful impact. It’s more than just a gift—it’s an investment in the well-being and quality of life of the seniors who have worked hard to build the communities we enjoy today.
We deeply appreciate your support and your thoughtful consideration of our residents. If you have already made a gift, we sincerely thank you for your generosity.
From all of us at St. Michael’s we extend our warmest wishes for a safe and joyful Christmas, a Happy Holiday and a healthy New Year!
Sincerely,
John Kopeck
